#SHOWBIZ: '40': Sharifah Zarina's comeback song

SINGER Sharifah Zarina is no stranger to the music industry.

Most Malaysians will fondly remember the power-packed pop song 'Langit Ketujuh' that made her a household name in 2005.

In fact, throughout her 20-year career, in addition to singing, Sharifah Zarina also tried her luck in acting and participated in several reality programmes besides appearing in Malay language dramas.

The last time 43-year-old Sharifah Zarina, whose real name is Sharifah Zarina Wan Hassan, recorded a song was in 2019, for 'Pernah Bahagia'.

And now, the Arab-Melanau beauty from Kuching, Sarawak, brings her latest masterpiece, a motivational song titled '40'.

Created by Fahimi, Glowrush and Eugene Lai with lyrics by Fahimi and Mal Hamka, '40' has been described by Sharifah Zarina as a "deeply moving and reflective" piece.

"'40' depicts life's journey and a person's profound experiences. This song is fresh and cheerful, and celebrates a new chapter in life.

'40' represents those in their 40s with the message that being 40 is still young and is a call to welcome life with enthusiasm and confidence."

The passion in Sharifah Zarina's voice reflected her positive attitude towards turning 40.
