#SHOWBIZ: Alan Walker to entertain KL on Nov 8

KUALA LUMPUR: Internationally renowned DJ and producer Alan Walker will be coming to Malaysia after all.

The popular artiste is set to perform at KL Base in Sungai Besi here on Nov 8 and his show will be a Southeast Asian exclusive.

The event's promoter Livescape said in a recent statement that Walker's coming visit is his way of expressing gratitude to fans who have supported him all these years.

Walker was supposed to have come on June 22 as part of the Walkerworld Asia Tour Part 1 but this was canelled due to some unfortunate events beyond his control.

Seeking to clear the air regarding the previous cancellation, Walker's team revealed that the decision came after they were alerted of several critical issues close to the date of the show.

"A thorough report conducted by an independent third party had revealed safety concerns regarding the stage setup, as well as payment issues with local vendors from the previous show.

"Thus, to ensure the safety and well-being of fans, while also upholding the standards of professionalism in the industry, the difficult decision was made to cancel the show," said Walker's team in a statement.

Walker, 27, will be personally funding the new concert Walkerworld Asia Tour Part 2 in order to ensure that local vendors involved in the new show get compensated accordingly.

"From the bottom of my heart, I want Malaysians to know they are valued and respected. If others fail to treat them right, I will be there to ensure they are.

"This isn't just a concert – it is a promise fulfilled, a bond strengthened, and a gesture of genuine love from me as an artiste who truly cares for the fans," said Walker.

Realising that many ticket holders for the June event are still awaiting updates from the previous promoter regarding refunds, Walker and his team will complement the previous ticket holders to the new show and they will be entitled to an exclusive discount of 15 per cent if they choose to bring in their friends.

Best known for hits such as Darkside, Faded and Alone, Walker is one of the world's foremost DJ producers and has previously collaborated with high-profile artistes such as Ava Max, Noah Cyrus, Sia, Bruno Mars and Coldplay.

His most recent and fourth album, Walkerworld, was released in 2023.

Tickets for the new show are on sale on All-Access with early bird tickets selling at RM198 and RM120 for those under 18.
