#SHOWBIZ: Afgan to stage debut concert in Penang in December

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian singer Afgan is thrilled to be performing in Penang for the first time this December.

Despite having lived in Malaysia for two and half years to pursue his studies in Economics at Monash University Malaysia, the singer whose full name is Afgansyah Reza had never visited the famed island.

"This will be my first time going and performing there. So I'm excited," he told reporters when met at a hotel here yesterday.

"I'll be spending one or two days after the concert there and as I'm a beach person, I hope to spend some time chilling at the beach too."

The 35-year-old artiste added that he would also make the effort to savour some of the island's local delicacies.

Although Afgan had performed in Malaysia numerous times, he said that his first concert in Penang would also be his biggest ever.

Organised by Strategy X Entertainment, the 'Afgan Live in Penang 2024' concert is schedule to take place on Dec 28 at the Setia Spice Arena, a venue which can accommodate up to 7,000 concertgoers.

According to the popular singer, he had only previously performed at venues with a maximum capacity for 5,000 people.
