#SHOWBIZ: Kieran turns down work due to prostate cancer diagnosis

KUALA LUMPUR: Former radio presenter Kieran, 49, is currently undergoing treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The cancer has since spread to his stomach and lungs.

Kieran, whose real name is Maskiran Jakiran, shared that his treatment began later than it should have. "The cancer has started to spread to my stomach and lungs. I am currently receiving treatment in the Oncology ward at Kuala Lumpur Hospital," he told Harian Metro.

Kieran explained that he is undergoing a series of chemotherapy sessions.

"I was admitted to the ward last Friday and will likely remain here until next Monday.

"I'm scheduled for four chemotherapy sessions, and this is my first week.

"The doctors are starting with a low dose to see how my body reacts," he said.

Since August, Kieran has been turning down job offers to focus on his health, following his doctor's advice to rest.

"I haven't hosted any events since August, and I've been told to rest more moving forward.

"Unfortunately, I've had to decline job offers because of my condition."

Kieran remains hopeful about his treatment, though he acknowledges the need for ongoing care and support.
