#SHOWBIZ: Rossa's son once hated his father Yoyo after their divorce

KUALA LUMPUR: Rizky Langit Ramadan, the son of renowned Indonesian singer Rossa, revealed that he once held strong resentment towards his father, Yoyo, the drummer of Padi Reborn, following his parents' divorce.

This emotional admission was made by Rizky, now 18, during an interview for the documentary All Access To Rossa: 25 Shining Years.

Rossa, 46, shared that she only became fully aware of her son's feelings during the editing of the interview. Hearing Rizky's words moved her to tears, as she had not realised the depth of his pain.

"All along, I knew Rizky wasn't fond of his father, but I didn't know he actually hated him at one point.

"I never asked him how he felt back then, as he was so young," Rossa told Berita Harian.

"Rizky's words really touched me. It turns out that while I was trying to heal from the divorce, my son was silently trying to be strong for me."

Rossa explained that Rizky tends to hide his emotions, perhaps to avoid adding to her stress.

She admitted feeling heartbroken over the revelation, but was proud of her son's resilience.

Despite the past tensions, Rossa emphasised that her current relationship with her ex-husband Yoyo, 48, is amicable.

Both have moved on and let go of any lingering resentment.

"We've forgiven each other and let the past go. Thankfully, Yoyo and I are on the same page," she said, adding that harbouring anger could be harmful.

While their relationship has healed, Rossa firmly stated that reconciliation was not on the table.

"We're in a good place, but rekindling the romance isn't something I see happening.

"I think many women feel the same after a separation," she added.

Rossa and Yoyo, whose real name is Surendro Prasetyo, 48, were married in 2004 and divorced five years later.

The news of Yoyo's intention to separate was delivered to Rossa via a lawyer while she was preparing for a concert in Kuala Lumpur.
