KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Amir Ahnaf has denied that a viral photo featuring a woman and an individual alleged to be him is actually of him.
The 24-year-old star of Kahar Kapla High Council clarified in an interview with the entertainment show Melodi that he has never been in a relationship with a woman from Singapore.
Amir expressed shock when the photo surfaced in August, but stressed that it wasn't him in the image.
"I've never been involved with that Singaporean girl. When I looked at the screenshot, it clearly wasn't me. So, I wonder why I'm being blamed?" he said.
"It's gone viral, but I want to emphasise again, it's not me."
Despite the rumours, Amir noted that his personal life and career have remained unaffected.
He shared that the production teams he works with continue to support him.
"My life is fine. Ups and downs are normal. I'm grateful the production teams believe in my talent and prefer to talk things through with me rather than jumping to conclusions," he added.
Amir also revealed that he has no interest in retaliating against those spreading rumours about him, choosing instead to remain focused on his career.
"I trust in Allah's plan and believe that the prayers of my parents are more important.
"I'm here to highlight my talent, not share personal stories that can become sensitive in this industry.
"Don't be quick to believe everything you hear, it can lead to slander," he advised.
Last August, Amir's name became embroiled in controversy when screenshots of an alleged conversation with an 18-year-old Singaporean woman went viral, suggesting they were involved.
This followed earlier rumours of his supposed relationship with another woman and more recently, speculation surrounding Angel from the girl group Dolla.
