#SHOWBIZ: Sufie Rashid seeks RM165,000 in damages from ex-business partner

KUALA LUMPUR: Singaporean singer and concert organiser Sufie Rashid, 33, has demanded that his former business partner pay damages of RM165,000 as ordered by the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court yesterday.

Sufie said that the payment was related to a fraud case involving the organisation of a music festival in Sepang, Selangor, two years ago.

"Due to the fraud, our company SAH Entertainment suffered a loss of approximately RM1.2 million.

"In the agreement, my former business partner had to pay me RM1 million. However, my company only received RM500,000," he said.

Sufie said that the organisation of the concert also involved his wife, Nurulain Md Yusof who is also his business partner.

"This fraud case had an impact on my wife.

"In fact, she was almost blacklisted from being allowed to go abroad," he said.

"Also, planned concerts by our company, SAH Entertainment, were delayed."

Sufie and his wife have become more careful in making agreements with any party to co-organise events.

Earlier, Sufie uploaded several screenshots on his Instagram (IG) account showing the court order for his former business partner to pay him RM165,000 in damages.
