PUTRAJAYA: Actor and director Que Haidar and Linda Jasmine have divorced after 15 years of marriage.
Que Haidar, 45, whose real name is Tengku Iskhan Sha Tengku Haidar, yesterday revealed that he and Linda, 52, divorced on July 2.
The couple married in 2009 and they have two daughters.
In a statement yesterday at Malam Kemuncak Anugerah Seri Angkasa (ASA2024), Que said both parties made the decision amicably and they maintained a good relationship, especially for the sake of their children.
"Allahuakbar, Alhamdulillah, this (divorce) is what Allah has ordained. I ask everyone to pray for the best for me and Linda. Thankfully, we are still on good terms; no one wants a divorce," he said during his appearance at the awards at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).
Que did not reveal the reasons for their divorce as he said it was too personal to share.
He was also grateful that their daughters, Tengku Ratu Haidar, 15, and Tengku Cleopatra Haidar, 12, are mature enough to understand the situation.
"Marital matters are personal. Divorce is not something to be proud of; it's better to keep it private and pray for the best.
"We continue to support each other in what is best for both of us and our children. There's nothing to announce or share publicly. Our relationship remains very good, and thankfully the children are coping with this maturely. There are no conflicts between us," he said.
Que and Linda tied the knot on February 14, 2009.
Before tying the knot with Que, Linda had been previously married and has a 24-year-old son, Qalif Khan.
