#SHOWBIZ: Linda Onn apologises after 11 years

KUALA LUMPUR: "I apologise to members of the media who might still feel slighted because they were not invited to our wedding. Don't be angry anymore."

This was what former radio presenter, Linda Onn, 46, said when asked to comment on her wedding ceremony with Ungku Azhar Ungku Maznan, 11 years ago.

According to Harian Metro, Linda said that she also had a specific reason for not inviting the media to cover her wedding at that time.

"I only invited my closest friends and family members for a certain reason that I can't disclose even up till today.

"I didn't invite the media not because of our problems (she and her husband) and the ceremony was also done on a small scale," she said.

When asked about the media's claim that they were chased away from her residence then, Linda said that she did not know about that.

"Only after the wedding ceremony was done did someone inform me of the reporters gathered outside the house. If I knew there were reporters outside, I would have surely invited them to come inside.

"I believe that it's all because of a misunderstanding and hopefully this explanation will clear the air," she said.

Regarding her alleged boycott by the media, Linda said that she also did not feel marginalised after the incident.

"My journalist friend, the late Mama Juwie (Abdul Jalil Salleh), once planned for me to meet with the media involved to explain, but I was confused and did not know what error had been made at the time.

"I was shy to see the media and believed that the matter would later be forgotten," she said.

Linda married Ungku Azhar on Dec 27, 2013 and they have a child, Ungku Zara, 6.
