KUALA LUMPUR: Hot FM made history by broadcasting live for 24 hours non-stop during a Mount Kinabalu expedition as part of the Bekpes Hot Tawan Puncak Kinabalu campaign.
The campaign began yesterday and continued into today, cementing Hot FM's position as Malaysia's number one radio station.
The expedition featured Bekpes Hot presenters KJ, Johan, Fara Fauzana, and AG, who were joined by several notable figures, including Datuk Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin, Selangor FC head of sports medicine Dr. Hazwan Khair, actress Ozlynn Waty, and the Hot FM crew.
The climb began at 8.30am yesterday from the Timpohon Gate in Kinabalu Park.
After a challenging ascent, the team reached Panabalan Base Camp, located 3,272 metres above sea level, at 6.58pm.
They continued toward the summit at 3am today, successfully reaching the peak this morning.
However, Fara Fauzana had to halt her climb at the base camp due to health concerns.
In recognition of their achievement, Hot FM was awarded a certificate by the Malaysia Book of Records for the Longest Non-Stop Radio Broadcast at Mount Kinabalu.
The certificate was presented by Megat Faris Hussein Megat Muzaffar Shah, a representative from the Malaysia Book of Records, who also joined the team on the climb.
Senior content director of Hot FM, Raja Khairil Idris Raja Aznan, expressed pride in the team's extraordinary effort.
"This campaign proved that Hot FM is more than just a radio station – it's a symbol of resilience and innovation.
As the first Malaysian radio station to take on this challenge, we are proud to remain relevant and close to the hearts of our listeners," he said.
