Hong Kong hiker injured while descending Mount Kinabalu

RANAU: A 30-year-old man from Hong Kong had to be carried on a stretcher after he fell and sustained injuries to his right thigh while descending from Mount Kinabalu this morning

The incident occurred at KM6.3 of the trail, prompting a swift emergency response from the Mountain Search and Rescue Team (MoSAR) and Sabah Parks.

The emergency call was received at 9.03 am, with the rescue team arriving just two minutes later at the scene near Panalaban's Sick Bay.

The hiker, who was under the care of a mountain guide at the time, received immediate first aid before being stretchered down to Timpohon Gate.
