KUALA LUMPUR: The guitarist of rock group Spider, Hanafi Hamdan a.k.a. Napie, passed away at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor around 3am today.
Napie, who also worked as a sound engineer at Studio Luncai Emas owned by Datuk M Nasir, had previously suffered a stroke on July 16 while at work.
He was accompanied by M Nasir's son, Hidayat, during the incident.
His body will be taken to Masjid Cahaya Iman in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, for prayers and burial after Friday prayers at the Bandar Country Homes Muslim Cemetery.
This marks another loss for Spider, following the death of bassist Tony Iskandar in June 2021.
Spider also includes singer and guitarist Tam, and drummer Aie.
