KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories Syariah Lower Court has ordered celebrity couple Farid Kamil, 43, and Diana Danielle, 33, to appoint representatives to a reconciliation committee.
Syarie Judge Abdul Fattah Datuk Kamarudin ordered this following Farid's refusal to pronounce a divorce against Diana during divorce proceedings at the court today.
The committee will be made up of family members who are close to the couple and will give advice in order to find a solution to their marital problems.
The court has set March 24 next year for the case to be mentioned as well as the committee's report.
During proceedings this morning, Diana was represented by Syarie lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader while Farid was represented by Syarie lawyer Fakhrul Azman Abu Hassan.
Last Nov 4, Diana filed for divorce against Farid in accordance with Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) Act 1984.
Diana's reason for divorce was that there was no understanding between them and they could no longer live together as husband and wife.
On March 10 last year, she filed for divorce at the Syariah Lower Court in Subang Bestari, Shah Alam, Selangor.
However, the celebrity couple were reconciled a month later.
Farid and Diana were married on Nov 3, 2012 and have two children, Muhammad, 11, and Nur Aurora, 9.
