KUALA LUMPUR: Former singer of popular nasyid group Raihan, Nordin Jaafar, 49, died at his home in Ulu Yam Bharu, Batang Kali, Selangor, on Saturday.
The sad news was shared on the longstanding vocal group's official Instagram account, Harian Metro reported.
The caption for the post read: "May his soul be placed with those whom He is pleased with. May his sins be forgiven, his good deeds be accepted."
It is understood that the deceased suffered from diabetes and kidney problems which also affected his eyesight.
His body was bathed and prayed over at the Al Falah Ulu Yam Mosque before being buried at the Taman Desa Kaloi Islamic Cemetery after the Zohor prayer.
Meanwhile, singer Fitri Haris also shared the sad news on his Instagram.
"Let's all offer an Al-Fatihah to the late Nordin, may he be with the righteous," he said.
The late Nordin began his artistic career as a member of the nasyid group Alarm Me, which was popular with the song Bulan-Bulan Islam.
In 2006, he joined Raihan, replacing Raihan's lead singer, Nazrey Johani, who released a solo album.
A year later, Nordin left Raihan to pursue a career as a solo aritste with the album Mari Berdoa.
