KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran songstress from Taiwan Chyi Yu is set to make her first live appearance in Malaysia in seven years in April.
Her solo concert, titled Chyi Yu Forever Splendour 2025 Live Concert In Kuala Lumpur, will be held at Mega Star Arena in Sungei Wang Plaza, Jalan Sultan Ismail on April 26.
Chyi Yu, known as Taiwan's Angelic Voice made her musical debut in 1979, and is known for her soft, ethereal voice.
She harmonises a blend of folk, classical and pop songs with finesse, and her ever-popular hits include The Olive Tree and The Bird And The Fish which resonate with fans across generations.
Chyi Yu will perform those hit songs as well as Smiling Face, Boat Song, Dream Land, High Heels Of September and People In Love.
She will also serenade fans with her English language folk songs such as Stories, Whoever Finds This I Love You and Angel.
As a result of her participation in China's variety shows Singer and Infinity And Beyond in recent years, Chyi Yu has gained a whole new following.
She has been accorded Chinese pop's highest honours, including the Golden Melody Award, Golden Tripod Award, Top 10 Chinese Gold Songs Award and Chinese Music Media Award.
