#JOM! STAY: OYO Hotels and Homes rolling out Sanitised Stay

AS the Movement Control Order (MCO) eases in the country and people start to reconnect with their friends, families and colleagues, businesses are also slowly returning to normal.

In the hotel industry, OYO Hotels and Homes is rolling out Sanitised Stay, a programme that ensures stringent hygiene and health measures at all its properties by focusing on the wellbeing of its guests and staff.

All guests and staff at the properties will have to go through a standard operating procedures (SOPs) on safety measures and these include:

CHECK-IN AND CHECK OUT

To ensure social distancing, OYO will revamp its guest check-in and check-out process to a minimal touch process.

The hotel chain is in the process of acquiring the required approvals for guests to upload their IDs and complete their formalities at the hotel with minimal staff interaction.

Similarly check-out and payment processes are being restructured to ensure minimal staff interaction.

MINIMAL CONTACT SERVICE

To ensure social distancing at all customer-facing touchpoints, OYO will introduce minimal contact room service and provide training to the housekeeping team on the same measures.

SANITISED STAY TAGS

All OYO properties enrolled in the programme will have the 'Sanitised Stays' logo displayed on the Oyo App and Hotel Booking Platforms.

Prior to being awarded, hotels will go through an initial, followed by regular checks for compliance.

Out of these, properties that have cleared the audit will display the Sanitised Stays tag on the booking page.

An audit based on reviews from guests will be conducted on the properties regularly to ensure that feedback, reviews, and recommendations are taken into consideration to ensure continuity of the Sanitised Stays tag.

Additional SOPs that guests and staff must adhere include:

Mandatory health screening including temperature checks and symptoms for all its guests as well as employees. Guests, vendors and contractors will be required to complete a travel and health declaration.

Placement of hand sanitisers at all touch and entry points as well as wearing face masks and other safety equipment at all time.

Encourage in-room dining to avoid gathering at its public spaces.Distance markers painted on the floors to highlight the correct social distancing space that all guests and staff must adhere to.

All guests, except senior citizens and differently-abled individuals, are required to handle their own luggage. All the luggage will be sanitised upon check-in.

There will be a regular inspection by the property management to ensure a proper housekeeping practice while adhering to the SOP.
