LOOKING all 'Barbie-fied' for the day in our most girlish outfit, we definitely make quite a chic entrance for our Barbie Ultimate Staycation, a one-of-a-kind experience by Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.
Our arrival at the Sky Lobby, located on the highest level of the building, is welcomed by a smart looking gentleman behind the sleek marble reception counter.
As he taps away at the keyboard busy checking my booking details, my attention is drawn to the view behind him - the city's stunning skyline with KL Tower as the main star.
My sister on the other hand is busy entertaining my babbling one-year-old who's probably in awe with the view too, as they stand near the floor-to-ceiling window at the Sky Lobby Lounge.
Indeed, this is one of the most iconic venues in the hotel as it offers a magnificent 360-degree panoramic view of the KL skyline. From up here, you can enjoy the city view from every angle!
A few minutes later, a lady in a casual black polo-tee and a pair of denim jeans comes to greet me, introducing herself as the Barbie Ambassador, who will be taking us to our Barbie Room.
STAY
The Barbie Ultimate Staycation experience is a unique package, ideal for families with daughters, or for ladies looking for a fun stay with girlfriends - or both reasons combined, like myself.
Well, for a start, we will be staying on a special floor - where all the Barbie themed rooms and suites are located.
And on this floor, the corridor from the lift to the rooms are brightly decorated with vibrant pink coloured wallpapers and carpets.
At the lift area there's two stunning Barbie deco backdrops for guests to take photos and selfies!
The room? Oh, it's stunning and everything screams Barbie! The elegant Barbie themed room is super spacious and it's every little girls' dream room.
Not only that it's pink, but it has all cute and girlish furnishings such as pink and glittery pillows, and throws.
There's a play corner complete with a Barbie doll house, Barbie play mat, Barbie jeep, well… it's everything Barbie. There are also two Barbie dolls for the kids (or the kid-at-heart) to play with.
Besides the Barbie play corner, the room also has a closet full of fashion accessories for you to play dress up.
Cute skirts, wigs, hats, bags - you name it, it's there. On the vanity table, there are rings and sunglasses of all shapes and colours.
Not only that, the amenities are also in tune with the theme - bathrobes with Barbie logo, Barbie toothbrush and toothpaste for the kids, Barbie drinks and snacks. Oh it's too adorable!
The bathroom has both bathtub and rainfall shower, with Liquid Crystal Glass (LCG) cube adjustable for privacy setting.
The Barbie Ultimate Staycation also offers another room category which is the Barbie themed suite which is bigger as it has a living area and a luxurious bathroom fitted with a round-shaped marble bathtub.
EAT
While we're here for the Barbie Ultimate Staycation, it is a must to check out the Barbie Cafe.
Designed as the exclusive F&B venue suiting the overall experience, Barbie Cafe is a restaurant of photogenic wonders, one with Barbie written all over it.
The glass-house cafe overlooks the stunning pool area, really gives me the Malibu glam vibe.
The interior inside is even more jaw dropping. The centrepiece of the restaurant is filled with flowery-garden deco of various pink shades roses, elegant furniture as well as swing-like seating that any girl would enjoy for a photo-opt.
There's also vintage Barbie dolls collections at one corner that exhibit some of the iconic characters such as Mary Poppins, Diane Von Furstenburg, Princesses editions and many more.
At another corner, there's a giant-sized Barbie box for guests to go inside and take pictures like a Barbie still in a box out from the toyshop, complete with all the accessories!
Ok, on the food, the cafe serves breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktail to complement the luxurious hotel stay.
But we have booked ourselves for the Pink Afternoon Tea that offers all sweet and sugary desserts. There's lollipop, macaron, cheesecake, tart, madeline, scones and many more served in the set.
Of course there are savoury snacks as well like poached Boston lobster, Atlantic smoked salmon mousse, Yorkshire pudding and many more delicious finger foods.
At the open counter, you can opt for chocolate dip fruits and candy, as well as assorted ice cream flavours such as raspberry sorbet, mango and passion fruit sorbet, pandan coconut, double chocolate as well as vanilla ice cream. There are also a variety of condiments to put on top.
As for the drinks, I highly recommend the milkshakes or go for a glass of refreshing signature mocktails. Ask the waiter for a surprise!
DO
Ok, the Barbie playhouse and full-to-the-brim closet aside, we also spend our time at the swimming pool.
I love the fact that the pool is huge and the icing on the cake is the kids pool that is located at one corner. And there's the iconic Barbie logo to make a perfect Insta-shot background!
On top of that, the hotel has a spa and a gym.
GO
The hotel is located just next door to the Twin Towers. This means you can go for retail therapy in a jiffy. Other places to visit are Aquaria, or maybe take a stroll at the KLCC park.
However, for dinner, my sister and I take a little walk to the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur which is just 15 minutes away.
There's plenty of restaurants there and we do a little shopping before heading back to the hotel to end the night.

Perfect package to take your girls for a Malibu-feel vacation. If you are taking your kids for the afternoon tea, they will be getting a complimentary Barbie doll!
The room is huge and there's plenty of things to do in the room, I promise you that you won't get bored.
LOWS
The Barbie in the room does not come with a wardrobe change unfortunately. But on the plus side, it's actually more child-friendly.
My advice, girls, take your Barbie with you and the whole wardrobe when you come for a stay at the Barbie Ultimate Staycation by Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.
