KUALA LUMPUR: Limited units of Hyundai's updated Grand Starex is up for sale.
Exterior enhancements to the 11-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) includes a sports bodykit, a new Moonlight exterior colour, Crystal Tail Rear Lamps and a Rear Spoiler with High-Mounted Stop Lamp.
It is available in two rear wheel drive (RWD) variants: Grand Starex Executive Plus and Grand Starex Executive Plus with Telematics. Both house a 2.5 CRDi VGT diesel engine that is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic.
Premium features include swivel seats on the second row, a suite of safety features, and an overhead display monitor among others.
The pricier variant comes pre-installed with a Telematics System for enhanced driver and passenger safety, and concierge service that allows an easier time for owners to book a service appointment or to locate and report a stolen vehicle.
The Telematics System comes integrated with six services namely eCall: Automatic Accident Detection, Manual eCall: Emergency Assistance, bCall: Breakdown Assistance, Service Assist, Mobile App – Connected Security Features and Stolen Vehicle Tracking.
Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors managing director Low Yuan Lung said the MPV is a popular choice for businesses and big families due to its practicality and functionality.
"The Grand Starex is one of our best-selling models after the Kona and Elantra because of its size, performance and affordable pricing. With limited units left, those who have been eyeing the Grand Starex should place a booking soon," he added.
Grand Starex Executive Plus retails at RM163,888 while the Grand Starex Executive Plus with Telematics retails at RM165,888 (inclusive of the Penjana sales tax waiver as well as the import and excise duty exemption but excludes insurance). It comes with a 5-year or 300,000km warranty.
