Perodua donates five Myvi units to PDRM

KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua has handed over five Myvis to the Selangor contingent of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) as part of the brand's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Five units of the pre-facelift 3rd generation Myvi will primarily be assigned to selected stations in the Hulu Selangor district, particularly in Serendah, Rasa and Ulu Yam Bharu, with the remaining car heading towards the district headquarters.

Selangor police chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said the cars will compliment their existing fleet of Protons and Honda Civic, while also allowing the police to be closer to the communities by being more leveled and relatable with the public's choice of vehicle.

Arjunaidi received the keys to the cars from Perodua chairman Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin during a handover ceremony at the carmaker's headquarters in Rawang.

The Myvis are of standard AV specification detailed with the police's personal paint finishing and strobe light.

It houses a 1.5 litre 2NR-VE engine paired to a four-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The front-wheel drive (FWD) powertrain delivers 102 hp and 136 Nm.

Total donation is valued at RM400,000 which includes two years of free scheduled maintenance along with parts. They are covered by the 5-year factory warranty thats standard to Myvis.
