SERDANG: WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has officially launched the 2024 GAC Aion Y Plus all-electric crossover model in Malaysia.
WTCA has been the sole distributor of China-based automobile manufacturer GAC Aion New Energy Automobile Co Ltd's (GAC Aion) electric vehicles (EVs) since January this year.
Warisan TC Holdings chief executive officer Tan Keng Meng said a positive reception from the Malaysian public is expected with a target sales of 2,000 units per year.
"The all-new GAC Aion Y Plus is designed to meet the expectations of discerning urbanites, and those seeking the ideal car will find it very enticing and exciting," he said during the EV's official launch at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 today.
The all-new 2024 GAC Aion Y Plus enters Malaysia's growing EV market, with prices ranging from RM119,800 to RM135,800.
GAC Aion Southeast Asia general manager Ma Haiyang said the company is pleased with its collaboration with both WTCA and the Tan Chong Group.
"We are confident that they will help grow the GAC Aion brand further in Malaysia," he said.
In a statement, WTCA and GAC Aion acknowledged the importance of an after-sales infrastructure network to better support its customers.
"Ahead of today's launch, the companies spent the last four months establishing a network of 21 new showrooms and service centres nationwide, with more set to become operational within this year," it added. – BERNAMA
