KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd is set to bring in luxury electrice vehicle (EV) Denza into Malaysia through a Denza importation & distribution agreement with BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd.
Sime Darby Auto Import Sdn Bhd will be the official importer, while BYD Malaysia Sdn Bhd will work as the official distributor for Denza, a premium sub-brand of BYD.
BYD said the agreement marks a new journey and further enhances the relationship between BYD and Sime Darby as a group, expanding the partnership, with the latter as an official importer.
Sime Darby Motors Assembly and Strategic Businesses managing director Dennis Ho said theofficial signing marks a momentous milestone for Sime Darby Motors to venture into a new partnership with BYD Auto Industry and BYD Malaysia.
"Through this, we look forward to forge a stronger partnership with BYD, expanding our presence in the EV market while diversifying Sime Darby's EV portfolio. We are committed to a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of electric vehicles in Malaysia and we believe that bringing in Denza will be a significant part of this journey," he said.
