KUCHING: Residents at Taman Lee Ling in Matang here had a shocking encounter with a six-foot-long crocodile on Tuesday morning.
A source said the reptile was believed to have escape from the nearest river and trapped in a drain after heavy rain that morning.
Petra Jaya Civil Defense Department dispatched five men to the scene after received the distress call from the public at 8am.
It took them 30 minutes to haul the reptile from the drain into the vehicle.
The reptile was then handed to the Sarawak Forestry Corperation later that afternoon.
