Ahmad Ismail Continues to helm national takraw association

JOHOR BARU: Sepak Takraw Association of Malaysia (STAM) president Datuk Ahmad Ismail retained his seat for the fourth term after defeating his deputy, in a straight fight, winning 50 of the 72 eligible association members.

His deputy Ms Shapian Ali who is also Terengganu Takraw Association president managed to gain 20 votes with one did not attend and another was non-partition.

Ahmad said this voting process was done in a democratic manner and proved that members had confidence in him to further develop takraw to greater heights.

He also asked for those who did not win to put aside their differences and work together at grassroot level for the sake of takraw.

"This is the first time I choose my own line-up for deputies and it was well received.

"As their leader I know who are able to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them. It's essential as we must ensure takraw will continue to get support from the people.

The AGM was held at Selesa Hotel here.

The new line-up is as below:

President: Datuk Ahmad Ismail

Deputy: Akramuddin Abd Aziz (Malacca)

Vice-presidents: Datuk Khairuddin Samad (Putrajaya), Fudin Chee Kifli (Sarawak), Datuk Ahmad Yusof Ismail (Kedah).
