GEORGE TOWN: The five teachers in Penang investigated for possible involvement in the UPSR examination paper leaks have been cleared of any wrongdoing, state Education Department director Datuk Osman Hussain said today.
He said investigations by the police and the department showed there was no strong evidence to show their involvement in the nationwide UPSR leakage fiasco.
"The police have completed their investigations and we have also completed ours.
"There is no evidence to show the teachers were involved in the examination paper leakage," he told reporters after visiting year six pupils re-sitting for the Mathematic UPSR paper at SK Sungai Gelugor here.
A total of 23,621 pupils in Penang, including nine warded at hospitals, are re-sitting for the Mathematic and Tamil papers at 281 examination centres in the state today.
