THIS month, Cartoon Network (Astro channel 616) brings you a freakishly-thrilling line up of Scooby-Doo: Abracadabra-Doo, The Fog Of Courage and the global premiere of Monster Beach.
Catch the premiere of The Fog Of Courage tomorrow at 4.30pm. It tells of a cowardly dog named Courage, which must rescue its lovely owner Muriel from the vengeful supernatural Fog.
But what happens when Eustace, Muriel’s greedy husband, refuses to return the gold necklace belonging to the Fog’s long lost love? Tune in to find out.
Cartoon Network’s original production Monster Beach is set for its global Halloween premiere tomorrow at 5pm. It will keep fans company throughout this spookiest day of the year as an ordinary summer holiday gets complicated when two kids — Jan and her brother Dean — are packed off to stay with their dropout uncle, Woody.
It’s a complete paradise with a secluded island, great waves and a relaxed adult in charge.
But why is this place deserted and what are those strange noises coming from the beach? The terrible truth is revealed when it turns out the locals are in fact surf-crazed monsters who don’t quite appreciate having tourists!
Silas Hickey, creative director — Animation, Turner International Asia Pacific and executive producer of Monster Beach at Cartoon Network, says his team is always on the hunt for great content that travels.
“We know that kids all around the world love to laugh — so it’s no coincidence that our most popular series are comedies.
“There’s just something wonderful about humour that both entertains and connects. So, what makes a cartoon funny? Ideally, it should have a great story and feature characters who are smart, fun, fearless, surprising and relatable.
“Comedy is at its best when it is character-driven. Complex dimensional characters are what we like because they are memorable, endearing and relatable,” says Hickey.
