KUALA LUMPUR: Two people were killed while another two were seriously injured in an accident at Bukit Jalil Highway, today.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police investigation and traffic law officer Deputy Superintendent S. Markandan said initial investigation revealed the driver of a Proton Wira had lost control of his car and crashed into the divider.
"The car then entered the opposite road, and rammed into a Mazda 3 driven by a woman before the vehicles were dragged few metres away," he said.
Markandan said the driver of the Proton Wira suffered serious injuries while two of its passengers, a man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are in the midst of identifying the victim's identities.
He added the driver of Mazda 3 sustained light injuries.
Firemen from Bukit Jalil fire station were deployed to extricate the victims from the wrecked vehicle.
Markandan added the injured victims were sent to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital for treatment while the bodies were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem.
