KUALA LUMPUR: Four men were brought to the Selayang magistrate's court today to face dual murder charges of a temple priest and his friend.
R. Rajandran, S. Sugumaran, L. Ilaiyarajan, and G. Pragas, calmly indicated they understood when read the charge of murdering R. Surender, 22, and S. Mahesan, 42. No plea was recorded.
The four, aged between 19 and 23, were alleged to have murdered Surender and Mahesan at an alley behind Pasaraya NSK Rawang, Gombak, Selangor, between 1am and 6am on April 14.
They may be punished with the death penalty if found guilty of the murder.
Magistrate Nurliana Ismail did not grant bail and fixed June 22 for mention.
Prosecution was carried out by deputy public prosecutor Sharifah Zulia Balqish Syed Agil.
