Convicted Math genius to repay loan

PUTRAJAYA: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has suspended its loan for mathematic genius Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin, 23, a former student from Imperial College, London in November last year, following his arrest for possessing pornographic images and video of children.

In a statement Mara said that Nur Fitri was convicted by a court in London on April 30 for the mentioned crime.

“We had suspended his student loan when he was first remanded for the charges in November.

“After he was convicted by the United Kingdom authorities, his student education loan was terminated immediately and he is required to repay the entire disbursed loan.

Mara added that the United Kingdom visa and immigration law, a person who has undergone two thirds his imprisonment term can be deported back to their country of origin.

Mara views with great concern any offenses committed by any student under its sponsorship to ensure the country's intention to produce top talent with integrity can be achieved.

It was reported in the International Business Times that Nur Fitri, who is known to be a mathematic genius was caught for having in his possession 30,000 videos and photos child pornography.

In what is called by the British police the “most extreme material they have ever come across, Nur Fitri was found to also have a creepy mannequin of a young boy by his side.

He was brought to the Southwark Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to 17 charges of possessing, making and distributing pornographic images of children up to November 2014.

He was sentenced to five years' imprisonment at the same court.
