New MPVs for Subang Jaya IPD

SUBANG JAYA: Subang Jaya IPD received 14 brand new Mobile Petrol Vehicles (MPV) in a hand-over ceremony which took place at USJ8 police station today.

These 14 MPVs are Proton Inspira 2.0 CVT which are an addition to two Proton Preve 1.6 MPVs which the IPD received two months ago, making the total number of new MPVs to this IPD to 16.

These MPVs are replacements to some of worn out MPVs.

These 16 MPVs are to be distributed to five police stations in the Subang Jaya district including USJ8 police station, SS17 police station, Bandar Sunway police station, Bukit Puchong police station, and Putra Height police station.

"The Subang Jaya IPD has 80 MPVs and most of them are worn out as they have been used for more than eight years. The replacements from old to new cars are timely in the time when we need to increase our efficiency in serving the burgeoning Subang Jaya community, as well as to prevent and curb crimes," said Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli who hands over the replica key to the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department head DSP Tan Nam Seng.

Tan hopes that the new cars will give a boost of motivations to the police officers to serve their duties but he expected the IPD to receive more new MPVs in a few years’ time to replace the worn out MPVs.
