Sarimah Ibrahim returns to the music scene with Destinasiku

PETALING JAYA: Known for her 2001 hit Kini Kau Tiada, singer Sarimah Ibrahim who has been busy with her hosting job, makes a return to the music scene, with the release of her new single, out next year.

Titled Destinasiku, the tune is composed by Damian Mikhail, a former member of popular R&B group, V.E.

The lyrics is co-written by Sarimah, Damian and Altimet.

"The lyrics are in Bahasa Malaysia. It features electro-dance music as the concept and has some elements of Kini Kau Tiada," said Sarimah, winner of Best New Artiste award at the 2001 Anugerah Industri Muzik.

Kini Kau Tiada was her first single from her self-titled debut album.

"I will be back in the studio to record Destinasiku soon. The music video will be shot in March next year," said the 37-year-old artiste.

Also featuring newcomer Reydzal Radzi, Sarimah said, Destinasiku is set for an official launch in April next year.

"This song is a special gift to my fans who have been supporting me all these years. So I don't want to rush it," she said when met after the launch of her new online show, Sarimah 2 Sen, held at The Canvas here today.

The five-minute show features Sarimah's personal thoughts as she shares about her journey through life, current issues and subjects that are close to her heart.

"I have been involved with radio and hosted various television talk shows previously, but Sarimah 2 Sen is different as it personifies who I am and what I believe in. It's also a way for me to get closer to my fans, after almost two decades in the entertainment scene," said Sarimah, who is also one of the hosts of ntv7's show, Bella.

Co-produced by Sarimah and Red Communications, the show premiered today on online TV channel, FEEFO.TV.
