KUCHING: A Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) C-130 Hercules aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at the Kuching International Airport (KIA) today after experiencing technical problems.
The aircraft with 94 people on board including its crew had departed from Kota Kinabalu in Sabah and was bound for the Subang airforce base.
The C-130 pilot, however, decided to make an emergency landing at the airport after the military plane experienced technical problems.
The aircraft landed safely at the airport at about 9pm.
State Fire and Rescue Department director Nor Hisham Mohamed said eight men in four engines were deployed to the airport to prepare for any untoward incidents resulting from the emergency landing.
“A water tanker crew was also despatched to the scene to prepare for any consequences,” said Nor Hisham.
