JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has released a 72-second video message, appealing all races to come together as one.
The video, uploaded on the ruler's Facebook page, has garnered 32,000 views and over 3,000 likes as of this morning.
It was Sultan Ibrahim's message ahead of the Chingay celebration, which is taking place tonight.
Sultan Ibrahim will be attending the procession, organised by the Johor Baru Tionghua Association and held for the 144th time this year, for the first time since the ruler's coronation on March 23 last year.
"I appeal to the Chinese community and all others of other races to come together as Bangsa Johor and unite as one," he said.
