KUALA LUMPUR: Eight decommissioned buses were damaged after a fire broke out at the depot of Rapid Bus Cheras Selatan Bus Complex here last night.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director for operations Mohd Sani Harul said the department received a distress call at 11.29pm, and the fire was brought under control by 12.05am.
“There were no casualties and the cause of fire is still being investigated,” he said.
Senior Fire Officer II, Veeraperumal Chinniah, led a team comprising 14 fire and rescue officers and 15 volunteers.
A spokesman from Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd said the company would cooperate with the authorities to facilitate the investigation.
The cost of the damage is still being ascertained.
