KUALA LUMPUR: A tour bus caught fire at 3pm today on Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari, Section U10 Shah Alam, near Alam Budiman.
Shah Alam deputy police chief Superintendent Ramsay Embol said the fire broke out while the bus was travelling from Puncak Perdana to Meru to pick up passengers.
"During the journey, the driver detected a burning smell and noticed smoke coming from the back of the bus.
"The driver found a safe place to pull over on the roadside and then tried to put out the fire," he said in a statement.
Ramsay said firemen and police from the Jelutong police station and Shah Alam Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department were despatched to the scene.
He said the fire was later put out, adding that no one was injured in the incident.
