TANJONG KARANG: Three friends from the same village died on the spot when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a lorry this morning.
The accident which took place along Batu 2, Jalan Bernam at 8am claimed the lives of Mohd Mohyudin Mohd Subari, 50; Ahmad Mustakim Mohd Ngail, 37, and Muhamad Syafiq Hassan Adli, 22.
The trio were pinned to their seats as the car had gone underneath the lorry.
They were already dead when a team of 22 firemen from the Tanjong Karang Fire and Rescue Department arrived at the scene.
The car was travelling from Kuala Selangor towards Sabak Bernam and was believed to have veered into the opposite lane where the lorry was from its way to town from Teluk Intan.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul said the front portion of the lorry had to be lifted as half of the car was under the heavy vehicle.
"Their death were confirmed by a medical officer at the scene. The bodies have been handed over to the police and sent to the Tanjong Karang Hospital," said Sani.
