KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a septuagenarian was found in a lake at Taman Bersatu in Rawang today.
Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Ali Ahmad said authorities found the 75-year-old man's body floating in the water this afternoon.
"At 3am today, his wife found out that he wasn't at home. She looked for him around the house but he was nowhere to be found.
"She started to search for him around the neighbourhood area. That was when she found a pair of shoes near the lake," said Ali.
The wife, 71, revealed that her husband, identified as Chow Kok Mun, had been suffering from depression for more than a year.
The victim's body was sent to the Sungai Buloh hospital for post mortem.
Police have classified the case as sudden death.
