GEORGE TOWN: Four people, including a two-year-old boy, were brutally gunned down, with their bodies left on the floor of a chicken processing factory in Batu Maung early this morning.
The deceased comprised Tan Saw Sim, 55; her son Chung Wah Tong, in his 30s; and her grandson, a two-year-old identified only as Ah Bee.
Also dead was Tan's boyfriend Toh Hock Choon, 50. Toh is believed to be the owner of the chicken factory.
The killer is believed to be a family member.
Police believe that the incident happened as the family and Toh were sleeping in the factory's living quarters, a makeshift container.
They were believed to have been killed using a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
State Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Razarudin Husain said police were alerted to the incident at about 2.55am.
"The suspect is believed to have fled in a Toyota Hilux belonging to Toh. A manhunt has been launched to track him down," he said.
