Newborn baby boy found alive in drain near Jinjang Selatan

KUALA LUMPUR: A newborn baby boy, with his umbilical chord still attached, was found alive in a drain at a housing area at Jinjang Selatan, this morning.

Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner R. Munusamy said police have sent the infant to the Selayang Hospital for check up.

He said a 16-year old boy found the infant in a pink of health inside a box in the drain in along Jalan Jinjang Selatan Tambahan and notified the police at 10.58am.

"The teenager heard his dog barking. Curious, he went out of the house but found nothing suspicious.

"But the dog kept on barking and later led the teenager to a drain some 10 metres away from the house where he found the baby, crying," said Munusamy.
