KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman today ordered a review on the management of external funds channelled to all state ministries, departments and agencies.
This, he said, was to ensure that the allocations which are not acquired from the State Budget are monitored closely to ensure proper management and handling of such funds in accordance with procedures at all levels.
In light of the arrest of two senior state government officials by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on corruption allegations, Musa had called for a briefing by the State Secretary and State Finance Permanent Secretary on the matter.
"As a follow up, I ordered for the review," he said. He gave his assurance that the state government is committed to fighting corruption and gives priority to integrity compliance as its main principle when it comes to finance management.
Musa also reiterated the call for all parties to give their full cooperation to the MACC in carrying out their investigations.
