KOTA KINABALU: Newly-formed state-based opposition party, Parti Warisan Sabah, claims it has collected 7,000 online membership applications from across the state since its website went live a few days ago.
Its secretary-general, Loretto S. Padua Jr, said the party headquarters is still in the process of approving the applications.
"We are also waiting for receipt of hard copies of the party's application forms, which we shall distribute throughout the state in due course.
"On another note, the headquarters has yet to give a green light, or to approve any pro-tem divisional committees, as we are in the midst of gearing up for our state-wide roadshow to introduce our cause and struggles," said Loretto.
The party's political bureau is expected to meet this Saturday to discuss, among others, the setting-up of party divisions all over the state.
Warisan is helmed by Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, while his deputy is Penampang Member of Parliament Darrell Leiking, formerly of PKR.
The three vice-presidents are Sulabayan assemblyman Datuk Jaujan Sambakong, Likas assemblyman Junz Wong (formerly of DAP), and Organisation of Kadasan Dusun Murut (KDM) Malaysia president Datuk Peter Anthony.
