KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan (Warisan) does not rule out the possibility of collaborating with other political parties in the upcoming 17th Sabah state election.
Its president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, said Warisan was open to collaboration, but believed that political cooperation between parties is a matter of individual choice.
"At the state level, we are the opposition, but at federal level, we support Pakatan Harapan (PH).
"This is clear at all levels.
"We are not collaborating with Umno either. We will see how things turn out because Umno is also the opposition (in the state).
"As for (a potential) collaboration with Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR), it is up to Jeffrey (referring to STAR president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan).
"As Sabahans, it is time for us to unite for the people.
"When it comes to collaboration, we have 20 parties in Sabah.
"Therefore, it is up to them whether they want to work with Warisan or not," he told the reporters after attending the Warisan President's Tour for the Sepanggar parliamentary constituency here yesterday (Aug 11).
