Hanif Omar heads list of 333 recipients of Perak honours

KUALA KANGSAR: Former Inspector-General of Police Tun Mohammed Hanif Omar heads a list of 333 recipients of state awards and medals in conjunction with the birthday of the Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah.

Mohammed Hanif is the sole recipient of the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Nazrin Shah (SPSN) award that carries the title “Datuk Seri Diraja.”

Sultan Nazrin Shah conferred the SPSN and other state awards to 33 of the recipients at an investiture at the Balairong Seri, Istana Iskandariah in Bukit Chandan here today. The Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim was also present.

Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong, who is also Teluk Intan member of Parliament, was conferred the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP), which carries the title “Datuk Seri.”

Two others were also conferred the SPMP namely Senator Datuk Zainal Abd Adzam Ghani and Perak Council on Islamic Religion and Malay Customs president Tan Sri Dr Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Nordin.

The Fleet Commander of the Royal Malaysian Navy, Admiral Datuk Pahlawan Mohamad Roslan Mohamad was conferred the Darjah Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS) award which carries the title “Datuk Seri Panglima“, while Perak State Financial Officer Datuk Mohd Ghazali Jalal was bestowed the Darjah Datuk Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM), which carries the title “Datuk.”

Twenty-three individuals received the Darjah Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) award which also carries the title “Datuk” including Universiti Malaya’s Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman and the late religious leader Ustaz Abu Bakar Al-Baqir (posthumously), which was received by his next-of-kin Anigan Rusda.

Also receiving the DPMP were political secretary to the Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Faizul Arby Mohd Shohor; Bagan Serai member of Parliament, Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali; Lean Ah Too, Special Officer to the Perak Menteri Besar, Dr Azizah Johor; Manong assemblyman Mohammad Kamil Shaffie, Beh Chiew Ning and Shahul Hamid Mydin Shah.

Other DPMP recipients were Perak State Development Corporation deputy chief executive, Jamal Mohd Aris; state Syariah chief judge and Head of state Syariah Judiciary Department, Asa’ari Mohd Yazid; state education director, Rozi Puteh Ismail; Larut Matang and Selama district officer, Kamaruddin Awang; Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council president, Shahrom Abd Malik, state Public Works Department director, Jamilol Nasir Saad.

Other recipients were Community Development Department (KEMAS) director-general, Amiruddin Ariffin; Sultan Azlan Shah University Berhad board member, Mustafa Mohd Nor; CIMB Group Holdings Bhd Group Chief People Officer, Hamidah Naziadin, Toh Muda Orang Kaya Seri Adika Raja Shahbandar Muda, Meor Roslan Meor Ahmad Rashidi and Orang Besar Jajahan Hulu Perak Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab, who is also CyberSecurity Malaysia chief executive officer .

Universiti Malaya Otorhinolaringology Department head Professor Dr Prepageran Narayanan, Advocate and Solicitor Ang Saik Hoon and Perak Tenaga Nasional Berhad general manager Raja Abdul Jalil Raja Zaid were also bestowed the DPMP.

Sultan Nazrin Shah also presented the Darjah Datuk Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS) award which carries the title “Datuk Pahlawan” to four recipients namely state deputy police chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan, Royal Engineers Regiment Headquarters director, Brigadier General Ahmad Nasir Abd Rahman; Tuanku Mizan Armed Forces Hospital commanding officer Brigadier General Dr Md Amin Muslan and Eastern Joint Forces 2 commander, First Admiral Syed Zahrul Putra Syed Abdullah.

Meanwhile, Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Deputy Editor-in-Chief (Economic News Service) Mikhail Raj Abdullah is among 21 recipients of the Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP) award.

Perak-born national diver who won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics Cheong Jun Hoong and Sinar Harian Perak bureau chief Saifullah Ahmad are among 87 recipients of the Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP).

In addition, three people will receive the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM) award, nine the Darjah Ahli Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM), 88 the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), 88 Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) and four Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP).

The investiture for PCM, PMP, ACM, AMP, PPT, CBC and PLP will held on Nov 12. --Bernama
