Hiker rescued from Bukit Kutu after collapsing from muscle cramps

HULU SELANGOR: The Fire and Rescue Department rescued a collapsed hiker on Bukit Kutu near here this morning.

The hiker was part of a group of 13 people from Petaling Jaya who had ascended the hill at around 2am to witness the sunrise.

However, their outing was cut short when Nurnadia Ezzati Saa’ari, 24, began suffering muscle cramps. They then contacted the fire station for assistance.

Kuala Kubu Baru fire station head Kamil Hamadan said a search and rescue operation was launched after they received the group’s distress call at 4.42am.

“The team managed to locate the group at 6.20am and found that the victim was suffering cramps from the waist down.

“They brought the victim down the hill on a stretcher and arrived at base camp at around 9am.

“The victim was sent to Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for treatment,” he said.
