PADANG BESAR: A 38-year-old teacher was killed while three others were injured in an accident involving four vehicles at KM21.2 Jalan Kangar-Padang Besar yesterday.
Norhaiza Ghazali, a teacher with a school in Padang Besar, died in the 2.30pm incident.
Padang Besar district police chief Superintendent Rizani Che Ismail said the incident occurred when a lorry skidded into the opposite lane and crashed into three oncoming vehicles, including the Perodua Kancil driven by Norhaiza, who was heading from Padang Besar to Kangar.
"The 29-year-old lorry driver sustained a broken right thigh and several injuries while the driver of the Nissan X-Trail, Heng Chee Wat, 35, injured his right hand.
"Anand @Adenan Iskandar Rossidi, 21, who was behind the wheel of another vehicle, Perodua Kelisa, suffered serious injuries and is being treated at the Emergency Ward of the same hospital," he said when contacted.
He added that it was raining during the incident.
