LAHAD DATU: A man died after he was believed to have been killed in a crocodile attack in Lahad Datu late last night.
The remains of Tiga Hari Madjami, 60, was found near the Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) bridge here around 12.30am.
The district Fire and Rescue Department had received information around midnight on the discovery of a body in the water.
After fishing out the body, the authorities found bite marks on top of the victim’s head, as well as his chin.
Tiga’s body however was intact, with no missing limbs.
This could mark Sabah’s third crocodile attack in as many months. On October 6, the body of 28-year-old Herry Long was found in the Kg Langkon river in the Kota Marudu district.
He is believed to have died after being attacked by a crocodile during fishing. His body was found about 1km from where he was last seen by friends.
In September, villagers from the Kinabatangan district saw a woman being dragged off by a creature believed to be a crocodile, into a river there.
The 22-year-old woman, who was collecting oil palm seeds along the river, had cried for help after being attacked but onlookers could do little to help her.
