Jelapang bully case: Cops record statements from six Form Three students

IPOH: Police have recorded statements from six students of a secondary school in Jelapang here for allegedly bullying their junior.

State Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Gan Tian Kee said besides the six Form Three students, police have also taken statements from three eye-witnesses, who claimed to be the victim's friends.

He said the school has also been told to take disciplinary actions against the seniors.

"However, no arrest was made. We are waiting for the deputy public prosecutor to decide whether to charge the six students in court," he said.

Gan also revealed that police have opened another investigation paper under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting after the victim's relatives attacked one of the suspects at the latter's home.

"We are currently identifying those involved and will detain them. We believed at least 10 people were involved in the second incident," he said, adding that the second incident happened six days after the Nov 17 bully case.

It was reported that the victim, identified as Muhammad Aiman Fahmi Norizzal, 13, suffered broken ribs after he was set upon by his seniors on Nov 17.

He claimed that during the 1.30am incident, several seniors had kicked, slapped and dragged him on the floor after he refused to share a drink with one of them earlie that day.

After an x-ray showed the injuries, his father lodged a police report at Jelapang police station on Nov 18.
