KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) and Pakatan Harapan today sealed the deal for an electoral pact to go up against Barisan Nasional in the next general elections.
Party leaders from the four parties - PPBM, PKR, DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) - made the pact official after signing the Cooperation and Common Framework Agreement at PKR headquarters here, today.
The agreement was signed by PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and PAN president Mohammad Sabu.
At the press conference, Muhyiddin insisted that his party would continue discussions with Pas, despite the latter saying that it would not work with DAP or their breakaway group, PAN.
"I have notified the Pakatan Harapan leadership, and we (PPBM and Pas) are still in discussions.
"We are taking one step at a time in good faith," he said.
In the seven-point agreement, the four parties have agreed on, among others, a one-on-one fight against BN and choosing a candidate based on winnability.
