Two fully-clothed bodies found floating near Pasir Puteh and Kuantan, at same time

PASIR PUTEH: The body of a man was found floating in the South China Sea, about 22 nautical miles from Tok Bali Port here today.

Kelantan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director Maritime Captain Nurul Hizam Zakaria said the body, which was fully-clothed and whose identity has yet to be ascertained, was found by the MMEA team during a routine patrol in the area at noon.

"The body is believed to have been in the sea for about a week due to its decomposing condition," he told reporters here.

The body was sent to the Tengku Anis Hospital for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, in Kuantan, a fully-clothed body of a man was found floating in Sungai Lesung, Kuala Rompin, Rompin at noon yesterday.

Rompin district police chief DSP Muhammad Aidil Roneh Abdullah said no identification documents were found on the body.

The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was dressed in a T-shirt and track pants, he told Bernama today. -- Bernama
