ALOR STAR: A 37-year-old man had to withstand 12 hours of agonising pain after he managed to cram a metal ring on his finger but could not remove it since.
Muhammad Shahril Ariffin from Alor Janggus was believed to have force the metal ring on his finger last night but failed take it off even when he tried using soap and lotion.
He had to endure the excruciating pain until this morning before seeking help at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.
The Jalan Raja fire station chief Nazri Kasa said the victim had gone to the station at about 10.15 am after the hospital failed to remove the ring.
“We took about 30 minutes to remove the metal ring. Since Shahril’s finger was already swollen, we had to be very careful,” he said when contacted.
Nazri said after successfully removed the ring, they treated the bruises on the Shahril’s finger before advising him to get it examined at the hospital.
It was not known why the man had decided to put on the ring.
