ALTHOUGH J Revolusi is in its fourth week of screening, the action-packed police drama is still going strong.
The movie starring Zul Ariffin, Farid Kamil, Izara Aishah, Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, Omar Abdullah, Iedil Putra Alaudin and Azad Jazmin has raked in RM7 million, much to the delight of its director, Zulkarnain Azhar.
“The figure could have been higher if not for the arrival of Hollywood blockbusters, such as Power Rangers. On Friday, main actors Zul and Farid will be meeting fans in Kuala Terengganu, where support for the movie has been particularly strong,” Zulkarnain said.
He said J Revolusi’s aggressive advertising campaign on television and social media, and in cinemas, had promoted the movie among cinema-goers, who otherwise might have opted to watch foreign movies.
“The determination of the main hero, Jay Zulkarnain, to clear his name of wrongdoing and save his twin sister, Dian, from the clutches of evil crime lord Andra has been described as an exciting story by viewers, with many watching the movie twice.”
J Revolusi opened in cinemas on March 2 and was co-produced by Grand Brilliance Sdn Bhd and Infinitus Productions Private Limited.
Filmed in the Klang and Kinta valleys, it tells of the challenges and dangers faced by dedicated Special Action Unit officers.
